iphone-5s-vs-iphone-5c-253:25 PM – There is no doubt that the iPhone is amongst one of the most popular smartphones in the market right now.  Since the release of the iPhone in 2007, Apple has only seen improvement in market share and in its revenue.  Globally speaking, Apple is losing an ongoing battle with Android, however in the United States, it’s a completely different story.

New projections from Asymco analyst Horace Dediu believes that 68% of Americans older than 13-years of age, will hold the iPhone in their hands by 2017.  This is quite a high number to expect, however not entirely possible.  Currently, globally, Apple’s market share stands at 12.9% in the most recent reports, and Android is standing at an impressive 81%.  Apple still holds a strong ground on its home turf.

This report is based on the fact if nothing major comes to really shake up the market.  Right now, many companies are pouring millions of dollars into R&D.  So, it’s hard to say nothing may come to shake up the market.  On the contrary, something will come as companies continue to innovate their products and introduce new electronics into the market.
