Nokia keeps on trying to make an effort to gain market share and attention on the Lumia series. Previously, not many Lumia smartphones got attention, although Nokia Lumia 1020 did get attention, mainly due to the impressive camera that was introduced. Aside from that, Nokia was and still is struggling. Even though the mobile business department was recently purchased by Microsoft, there is no guarantee that the company will turn a new leaf.
This hasn’t stopped Nokia from getting into the phablet category. In a tweet from notorious leaker evaleaks via twitter, we see a press release image of the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet. From the looks of the image, we just see an over sized version of the smartphone series. Nokia it seems has not done much to make an improvements or changes in the design that has been used for a long time.
The company expects the Lumia 1520 phablet to give other popular phablets such as Samsung Galaxy Note some hardship, but from the looks of it, that may not work out very well. Previous leaks suggest that the phablet will come with 6-inch display, 1080p display, a quad-core Qualcomm processor and a 20-megapixel PureView camera.
While Nokia has been trying hard to improve their business, one factor that has been holding them down is Windows Phone OS. Microsoft’s own mobile operating system is not very popular right now. Nokia, however, has done more for Microsoft than any other company. Microsoft has seen increase in market share, moving into third place behind iOS and Android.
